Ground Beef Tacos

Ingredients (serves 4):

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp oregano
  • ½ tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ cup tomato sauce or 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • ¼ cup water
  • 8 small taco shells (hard or soft)

Toppings (optional but recommended):

  • Shredded lettuce
  • Diced tomatoes
  • Grated cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese
  • Sour cream
  • Salsa or hot sauce
  • Chopped onions or cilantro
  • Sliced avocado or guacamole

Instructions:

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned (about 5–6 minutes). Drain excess fat if needed.
  2. Add chopped onion and garlic. Cook for 2–3 minutes until softened.
  3. Stir in chili powder, cumin, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  4. Add tomato sauce and water. Stir to combine and let it simmer for 5–7 minutes until thickened.
  5. Warm taco shells according to package directions.
  6. Spoon beef mixture into taco shells and top with your favorite toppings.
